What responsible play means to us
AllGaming CA is a free entertainment platform with no financial transactions. Unlike platforms that involve real-money mechanics, our product carries a different but equally real responsibility: we operate in the space of time and attention, and both of those things matter deeply to people's wellbeing.
We have designed Rise of Merlin Quest to be engaging without being compulsive. The game does not use artificial urgency mechanics — there are no timed events that expire, no daily streaks that punish absence, and no social pressure systems that make players feel they are missing out by not being online. These design choices are deliberate. We believe that a game worth playing is worth playing whenever you choose to play it, not just when an algorithm decides you should.
Responsible play, in our view, is the condition in which digital entertainment adds to a person's life rather than subtracting from it. It adds variety, mental stimulation, relaxation, and social connection. It subtracts when it displaces more important activities, creates anxiety about time away from the screen, or is used to escape problems that require active attention.
We encourage every player to periodically reflect on their relationship with AllGaming CA and with digital entertainment generally. The questions and guidelines below are offered in that spirit — not as indicators of a problem, but as prompts for the kind of self-awareness that supports long-term wellbeing.
Questions worth asking yourself
The following questions are not a diagnostic tool — they are invitations to reflect. If several of them resonate with you, it may be worth speaking with someone you trust or contacting one of the helplines listed above.
Do you play for longer than you intended to, more often than not?
Occasional extended sessions are entirely normal. A consistent pattern of playing significantly longer than planned may indicate that the game is fulfilling a need that warrants attention.
Has playing begun to interfere with work, sleep, relationships, or other responsibilities?
Entertainment that consistently displaces essential activities is no longer serving you well. A healthy relationship with any leisure activity involves it fitting comfortably within a full life, not competing with one.
Do you feel anxious, irritable, or restless when you are not playing?
These feelings, when associated with a leisure activity, can suggest emotional reliance. Entertainment is most valuable when it is chosen freely rather than felt as a necessity.
Are you using play to avoid or numb something difficult in your life?
Temporary distraction from difficulty is a normal and sometimes healthy use of entertainment. Sustained avoidance, however, typically makes underlying difficulties worse over time rather than better.
Have people close to you expressed concern about the time you spend playing?
People who know us well can often see patterns we cannot. If someone you trust has raised a concern, it is worth considering seriously rather than dismissing.
Habits that support healthy play
Set session limits in advance
Deciding before you begin how long you intend to play is more effective than deciding when to stop mid-session. The game is designed to be engaging, and mid-session decisions about stopping are made under different conditions than decisions made before you begin. Use your device's alarm or timer to create an external signal rather than relying on internal cues alone.
Play at a consistent time
Building play into a regular, bounded portion of your schedule — an hour on weekday evenings, for example — makes it easier to maintain a healthy relationship with it than playing ad hoc whenever you feel the pull. Consistent scheduling turns entertainment into a satisfying routine rather than a competing demand.
Take regular breaks
During longer sessions, step away from the screen for a few minutes every 45 to 60 minutes. Breaks reduce eye strain, improve concentration on return, and help maintain the sense that you are choosing to engage rather than being absorbed. Brief physical activity during breaks is particularly beneficial — a short walk, some stretching, or simply standing for a few minutes makes a meaningful difference.
Keep play in proportion
A useful heuristic: if the time you spend on AllGaming CA is proportionate to the enjoyment it provides relative to other activities you value, your relationship with it is likely healthy. If you find yourself thinking about the game significantly when you are not playing it, or feeling that other activities are less enjoyable by comparison, that proportion may have shifted in a way worth examining.
How AllGaming CA supports you
AllGaming CA provides several in-platform features designed to support responsible play habits. Registered members can enable session reminders that notify them after a chosen period of continuous play. These reminders appear as a brief, non-intrusive notification and do not interrupt gameplay — they are informational prompts, not forced breaks.
The platform does not send push notifications, emails designed to return you to the game, or any form of engagement-maximising communication. We do not maintain a marketing list for re-engagement purposes. If you have registered a community account and wish to close it entirely, you may do so at any time by contacting hello@allgaminginca.com. Account closure is processed within five business days.
We also do not use leaderboards or ranking systems that create competitive pressure to play more frequently or for longer durations. The social features of our platform are designed to enrich the experience of play, not to create social obligations around it. You are never required to be online at a specific time, achieve a specific ranking, or maintain any form of active status to retain your standing in the community.
If you ever feel that AllGaming CA as a platform is contributing to unhealthy play habits, we want to hear from you. Feedback of this nature helps us improve our design. Please contact us at hello@allgaminginca.com — your experience matters to us and we will read every message.
